COVENANT GROUPS  :

A METHODIST WAY OF LIFE

BASED ON THE BOOK 'FIVE MEANS OF GRACE'

Letter from Rev Tim Perkins and Jo Dixon:

MENSTON METHODIST CHURCH

January 2019

Hopefully by now you have heard about the new Covenant groups which will be starting in the week commencing 11th Feb. Every single person in the church family is important, including you. If we are looking to move forward as a church body then the Bible makes it clear that there is power in UNITY.

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. (1 Cor 1 v 10)

We are aware that not everybody is comfortable or able to attend a group. However, could we ask that every person is involved in this initiative in some way so that we are all included in what we have heard. Three ways you can be involved;

  1. Ideally join a group! There will be at least 4 available covering daytime and evening
  1. Take a copy of the (very small) book and get together with one or two friends fortnightly in a home over a cuppa to talk about what you read. Jo happy to attend any of these.
  1. Take a book to read on your own and prayerfully consider each chapter and how it might apply to your life and our church life.

If everyone can join in some way we believe this will make a huge difference. There is power in unity and agreement. It would be encouraging if you could let us know how you are taking part in some way.

Looking forward to journeying together

Rev Tim & Jo
