The Women's Network in the Methodist Church was formed in 1987. It brought together the two women's movements in the Methodist Church at that time, Women's Work and Women's Fellowship to form Methodist Women in Britain. (MWiB).
All women who are part of the Church and its associated organisations are members of MWiB. The aim is to know Christ and to make him known by encouraging, enabling and equipping women to participate fully in the life of the church and society.
It does this through:
-
Training in specific skills
-
Conferences and events on issues and themes
-
Different styles of worship and ideas for worship
-
Campaigns in which women may be actively involved
-
Provision of information about other groups and resources
-
Mutual support through all of the above
and encouraging a collaborative style of working.
