The Big Screen

Cinema screenWe have the facility to screen films and televised events in the main hall.  This has proved a great success and the events we have held have been well supported by our members and local villagers.

Our first film screening was Chariots of Fire to coincide with the 2012 Olympic Games.  We have since followed this up with a special children's screening of Up, the proceeds of which went to the BBC Children in Need Appeal, Sing-Along-A Sound of Music, To Kill a Mockingbird, Despicable Me 2 in aid of the Street Child World Cup, Mamma Mia! with the proceeds split between the Church and Sport Relief, Toy Story 3 and Paddington in aid of Children in Need, Jungle Book in aid of Comic Relief, Trolls in aid of Sport Relief, The Greatest Showman in aid of Marrick Priory Outdoor Education Centre, and Paddington 2 and Encanto in aid of Comic Relief.  To complete the cinema experience we sell refreshments, including popcorn and icecreams.

In addition to showing films we use the Big Screen for family social occasions including televising the Royal Wedding, Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, and the King's Coronation. We also shown the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  We recently screened the Drama Group's 2000 production of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. These have proved very popular and create a wonderful environment in which to share these great occasions.
